This Privacy Policy explains how Watch Roll, provided by Patina & Precision LLC ("Watch Roll," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when you use the Watch Roll website, web app, mobile apps, subscription features, collector record tools, provenance and watch collection tools, service history tools, horology sharing tools, Watchmakers Directory, Sellers Directory, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and information from service providers that help operate Watch Roll.
Account Information
We may collect your name, email address, password or authentication information, account role, subscription plan, email verification status, login status, account preferences, and support communications.
Watch Collection Information
We may collect watch records, collection names, brand, model, reference number, calibre, movement, case size, material, dial, purchase cost, MSRP, warranty, box and papers status, ownership notes, seller links, wish list details, and other watch-related fields you enter.
Photos and Uploaded Files
We may collect watch photos, service photos, profile images, generated share images, and related file metadata. We may process uploaded images to resize, compress, convert, or optimize them for storage and display.
Service History Information
We may collect service dates, recommended next service dates, service types, recommended service, measured accuracy, service notes, watchmaker account information, dealer or service center information, and service-related photos.
Watchmaker Directory Information
If a Watchmaker account opts in to the Watchmakers Directory, we may display selected profile information publicly, such as business or account name, service area, service types offered, website, bio, ratings, and directory status.
Seller Directory and Listing Information
If a Seller or Watchmaker account opts in to the Sellers Directory, we may display selected profile information publicly, such as display name, service area, seller focus tags, website, contact email, contact phone, bio, public Seller Roll listings, listing previews, asking prices, listing dates, manufacture years, listing status, condition, box and papers status, public listing notes, buyer-only seller ratings, and directory status. Private watch records, serial numbers, purchase notes, purchase cost, ownership history, and unpublished records are not part of a seller profile unless separately shared by the account holder.
Sharing and Invite Information
When you share a watch, share a roll, contact a watchmaker, contact a seller, inquire about a seller listing, or invite a watchmaker, we may collect share link identifiers, recipient email addresses, invitation status, notification records, inquiry metadata, and related metadata.
Billing Information
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe, Google Play, or another payment provider. We may receive billing-related information such as customer ID, subscription ID, purchase token, plan, subscription status, invoice status, billing portal events, payment failure status, and renewal information. We do not intentionally store full payment card numbers.
Device, Log, and Usage Information
We may collect IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, app version, pages or features used, error logs, security logs, session information, and performance information.
Local Storage and Cookies
Watch Roll may use cookies, local storage, session storage, or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember device-specific account choices, support offline use, store preferences, improve app performance, and protect the Service.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve Watch Roll.
- Create and manage accounts.
- Verify email addresses.
- Authenticate users and protect account access.
- Store and display watch collection records.
- Support uploads, image optimization, and local profile syncing.
- Enable service history, watchmaker invites, notifications, and collaboration.
- Provide subscription access, billing support, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, and payment failure handling.
- Generate share links and share images.
- Operate the Watchmakers Directory, Sellers Directory, ratings, listing previews, and contact workflows.
- Provide customer support.
- Monitor security, prevent abuse, and debug technical issues.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
- Enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in the following ways:
With Your Direction
We share information when you choose to share a watch, roll, image, invite, rating, directory profile, or service record with another person.
With Watchmakers and Owners
If an Owner invites a Watchmaker to a specific watch, the Watchmaker may receive access to the information needed to update service records for that watch. If a Watchmaker updates service details, the Owner may see those updates.
Public Directory Listings
If a Watchmaker opts in to the Watchmakers Directory, selected listing information may be publicly visible.
If a Seller or Watchmaker opts in to the Sellers Directory, selected seller profile information and Seller Roll listing information may be publicly visible or visible to eligible paid members, depending on how the directory and listing are configured.
Seller ratings may be displayed as aggregated public or member-visible averages. Buyer account identifiers may be used internally to confirm that only the assigned buyer for a sold listing can rate that seller.
Service Providers
We may share information with vendors that help us provide the Service, such as hosting providers, cloud infrastructure providers, payment processors, email providers, database or storage providers, analytics providers, security providers, and customer support tools.
Payment Processing
Stripe, Google Play, or another payment processor handles payment details and subscription billing. Their processing is subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
Legal, Safety, and Compliance
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect rights or safety, prevent fraud or abuse, investigate security issues, or enforce our Terms.
Business Transfers
If Watch Roll or Patina & Precision LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, asset sale, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Sharing Links and Public Content
Shared links and generated share images may be viewable by anyone who receives or accesses them, unless the Service clearly says access is restricted.
Watch Roll attempts to avoid exposing sensitive fields, such as serial numbers, in public sharing experiences. You should still review shared content before distributing it.
5. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain accounts, support subscriptions, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce our agreements.
If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify information where reasonably possible, subject to legal, billing, security, backup, fraud-prevention, and operational retention needs.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No system is completely secure. You are responsible for using a strong password, protecting your account credentials, and keeping your devices secure.
If you believe your account or data has been compromised, contact us promptly.
7. Offline and Local Profile Data
Watch Roll may store certain data locally on your device so the app can load faster, work offline, or sync when the backend becomes available. Local data may include account state, watch records, photos or optimized image references, preferences, and pending updates.
If you use a shared device, other people with access to that device may be able to view locally stored information. Signing out, clearing browser storage, uninstalling the app, or deleting local app data may remove local copies, but may not delete server-side records.
8. Your Choices
Depending on your account, subscription, location, and applicable law, you may be able to:
- Access or update your account information.
- Edit or delete watch records.
- Delete uploaded content.
- Opt in or out of eligible public directory listings.
- Edit, publish, unpublish, or remove eligible Seller Roll listings.
- Manage notification preferences.
- Cancel or modify subscriptions through billing tools.
- Request account deletion.
- Request access, correction, deletion, or portability of certain personal information.

9. State Privacy Rights
Some U.S. state privacy laws may provide eligible residents with additional rights regarding personal information, such as the right to know, access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses of personal information.
If a state privacy law applies to Watch Roll and to your information, we will respond to verified requests as required by that law. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
10. International Users
Watch Roll is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
11. Children's Privacy
Watch Roll is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as by posting the updated policy or providing in-app notice.
Continued use of the Service after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
