These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Watch Roll, including the Watch Roll website, web app, mobile apps, local admin tools, subscription features, watch collection tools, service history features, sharing tools, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Watch Roll is provided by Patina & Precision LLC ("Watch Roll," "we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account, subscribing, accessing the Service, or using any Watch Roll feature, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Watch Roll Does
Watch Roll is a collector-focused system of record. It helps collectors document watch collections, preserve provenance and watch-related records, track service history, invite trusted watchmakers to update service records, share selected watch or roll content and horology stories, discover opt-in Watchmaker accounts through the Watchmakers Directory, and discover opt-in Seller accounts through the Sellers Directory.
Watch Roll is a recordkeeping and collaboration platform. It is not an appraisal service, insurance service, authentication service, marketplace, escrow service, financial advisor, legal advisor, or replacement for professional watchmaking judgment.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Watch Roll. If you use Watch Roll on behalf of a company, shop, dealer, service center, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
We may require email verification before granting access. We may suspend or restrict accounts that appear fraudulent, abusive, compromised, or in violation of these Terms.
3. Account Roles
Watch Roll supports different roles and access levels, including:
- Owner: A collector who owns or manages a watch collection.
- Viewer: A user who may view content shared with them, subject to the access granted by the owner.
- Watchmaker: A Watchmaker subscription user who may manage their own account and, when invited and accepted, update service records for specific watches assigned by an owner.
An Owner controls access to their own collection and may invite a Watchmaker to a specific watch. A Watchmaker does not receive broad access to an Owner's entire collection unless separately granted by the Owner.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Watch Roll offers free and paid subscription tiers. Current paid tiers may include Collector, Seller, and Watchmaker subscriptions. Features, limits, and pricing may change over time, but we will present the then-current subscription details before purchase.
Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe, Google Play, or another payment processor we may use in the future. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize recurring charges according to the plan you select. Taxes may apply.
New Collector subscriptions may include a 7-day free trial when presented at checkout. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, billing begins automatically at the then-current Collector price.
You may manage billing, payment methods, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellation through the billing tools provided in the Service, Stripe, or Google Play. If you upgrade or downgrade a paid plan, the payment processor may apply prorations, credits, immediate charges, or renewal changes according to the billing settings shown at checkout or in the billing portal.
If payment fails:
- Collector accounts may be downgraded to Free when billing is not successfully renewed.
- Watchmaker accounts may receive a limited grace period before downgrade, as described in the Service.
We do not receive or store your full card number. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Google Play, or the applicable payment provider.
5. Free Plan Limits
The Free plan may limit the number of watches, available photo features, catalog access, service history, sharing, and other paid features. If you exceed Free plan limits, you may need to upgrade or remove content to continue using certain features.
6. User Content
"User Content" means information, photos, watch records, service entries, notes, uploaded images, ratings, directory profiles, messages, seller links, invite details, and other content you submit to the Service.
You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant Watch Roll a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, store, display, transmit, resize, convert, back up, and otherwise use your User Content as needed to provide, secure, improve, and support the Service.
You represent that you have the rights needed to upload and use your User Content. Do not upload content that infringes another person's rights, violates law, contains malware, exposes sensitive personal data without permission, or is misleading, abusive, or unlawful.
7. Watch Photos and Demonstration Images
Watch Roll is designed for users to upload photos they own or have permission to use. Demo images, stock images, or sample records may be used for demonstration purposes only and may be removed or replaced.
You are responsible for ensuring that uploaded images are lawful and appropriate. We may resize, compress, convert, or optimize uploaded images to improve performance and storage.
8. Sharing Features
Owners may share watches, rolls, or generated share images. Shared content may be visible to anyone who receives or accesses the share link, unless the Service clearly states that access is restricted.
Watch Roll attempts to avoid exposing sensitive data, such as serial numbers, in public sharing experiences. However, you are responsible for reviewing what you share before distributing links or images. Do not share content that you consider confidential.
Social platform sharing may depend on device, browser, operating system, or third-party app support. We cannot guarantee that every platform will support every sharing method.
9. Watchmaker Invites and Service Records
Owners may invite a Watchmaker to service or update records for a specific watch. A Watchmaker account should only be created by the invited watchmaker after accepting an invitation and selecting the appropriate subscription.
Watchmakers may add service dates, recommended next service dates, current service received, recommended next service needed, measured accuracy, notes, and service photos, depending on access and subscription status.
Owners remain responsible for reviewing service records and deciding whether to rely on them. Watch Roll does not verify service work, authenticate watchmakers, guarantee service quality, or certify any watch's condition.
10. Watchmakers Directory and Ratings
Watchmaker subscription users may opt in to appear in the Watchmakers Directory. Directory listings may include profile information, service types offered, service area, website, ratings, and other information provided by the Watchmaker or generated through Service activity.
Collectors may rate service experiences. Ratings should be honest, based on real interactions, and not abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, or manipulated. We may remove ratings or directory listings that appear fraudulent, unlawful, or inconsistent with these Terms.
11. Sellers Directory, Seller Roll, and Ratings
Seller and Watchmaker subscription users may opt in to appear in the Sellers Directory. Seller listings may include profile information, seller focus tags, service area, website, contact email, contact phone, bio, Seller Roll listing previews, asking price, listing date, manufacture year, condition, box and papers status, public listing notes, buyer-only seller ratings, and other information provided by the account holder or generated through Service activity.
Seller listings and Seller Roll previews are informational tools only. Watch Roll does not verify every seller listing, guarantee item availability, broker sales, hold funds in escrow, process sale payments between buyers and sellers, authenticate watches, inspect condition, verify ownership, arrange shipping, provide insurance, collect taxes for user-to-user sales, or guarantee the outcome of any transaction unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
Sellers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their listings, their right to sell listed items, authenticity and condition claims, communications with buyers, shipping, returns, warranties, taxes, and any transaction terms they agree to. Buyers are responsible for their own due diligence before buying, selling, trading, shipping, paying for, or meeting about a watch.
Only the buyer assigned to a sold listing may rate that seller for that listing. Ratings should be honest, based on the actual transaction, and not abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, fraudulent, incentivized, or manipulated. We may remove, hide, or limit ratings, listings, or directory profiles that appear fraudulent, unlawful, abusive, or inconsistent with these Terms.
Directory listings are informational only. Watch Roll does not endorse, guarantee, inspect, license, insure, or supervise listed watchmakers or sellers.
12. Catalog Data, MSRP, and Watch Information
The reference catalog, watch specifications, MSRP fields, calibre details, movement information, service intervals, and other watch data are provided for convenience and may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or based on third-party or user-supplied sources.
You should verify important watch information independently before making purchasing, servicing, insurance, resale, tax, or legal decisions.
13. Service Recommendations
Service intervals, recommended service dates, movement guidance, and maintenance suggestions are general informational tools. Actual service needs vary based on age, condition, usage, water exposure, prior service, parts availability, manufacturer guidance, and a qualified watchmaker's inspection.
Watch Roll does not provide professional watchmaking advice and is not responsible for damage, missed service, service delays, or decisions made based on Service recommendations.
14. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive purposes.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data without permission.
- Circumvent subscription limits, access controls, or security features.
- Upload malware or attempt to disrupt the Service.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk export data except through features we provide.
- Misrepresent ownership, service history, watch authenticity, identity, ratings, or affiliation.
- Use Watch Roll to sell counterfeit goods, misrepresented goods, stolen goods, or facilitate unlawful transactions.
- Manipulate seller or watchmaker ratings, create fake transactions, or submit ratings for transactions you did not participate in.
- Reverse engineer, copy, or exploit the Service except as allowed by law.
15. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with third-party providers such as Stripe, Google Play, hosting providers, email providers, mobile platform providers, social platforms, and analytics or infrastructure services. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, terms, policies, fees, or actions.
16. Availability and Changes
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or limit the Service or any feature at any time. We may also update these Terms. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as by posting the updated Terms or providing in-app notice.
Continued use after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data through available account tools or by contacting us. Some information may be retained as required by law, for fraud prevention, billing records, dispute resolution, security, backup integrity, or legitimate business needs.
Deleting your Watch Roll account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription unless the billing system confirms cancellation. You should also cancel through the applicable billing portal, Google Play subscriptions, or contact support.
18. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Watch Roll disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and security.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, current, or free of data loss.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Watch Roll and Patina & Precision LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, service errors, watch valuation errors, missed service, or third-party conduct.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid to Watch Roll in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
20. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Watch Roll, Patina & Precision LLC, and their owners, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
